Betty Agler Betty R. Agler, 79, 916 Elm St., Celina, died at 4:45 a.m. Oct. 17, 2006, at Celina Manor Nursing Home. She was born Nov. 10, 1926, in Mercer County, Henry and Nellie Schwartz Leugers. On April 27, 1946, she married Cloyd Agler, who died March 7, 1996. Survivors are a daughter, Becky Dale, Celina; two brothers, Robert (Marlene) and Melvin Leugers, all of Celina; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Deceased are a son, James; a brother, Lloyd Leugers; and a grandchild. She was a retired school teacher who taught for 23 years in the Fort Recovery Local School District. Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Robert Ellis officiating. Burial is at Swamp College Cemetery, rural Celina. Former Fort Recovery resident Martha Edna Baker, 86, of Rockford, died at 9:33 a.m. Oct. 15, 2006, at the Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford, where she was a patient the past eight years. She was born Feb. 3, 1920, in Imboden, Va., to Henry and Lula Scott Dickenson. Her first husband, Henry Roller, is deceased. In 1957, she married Hobart R. Baker, who survives in Fort Wayne, Ind. Also surviving are a son, Daniel (Victoria), Fort Wayne; a daughter, Brenda (Jack) Brands, Englewood; two stepsons, Walter (Lucy), of California, and Craig, Orlando, Fla.; a sister, Mary Moore, Xenia; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a step grandchild and a stepgreat-grandchild. Deceased is a stepson, Henry Baker; a brother, Roy Dickenson; and two sisters, Vivian Seymour and Vera Dickenson. She was a homemaker and attended the former Grace United Methodist Church, Rockford. Barbara Carey Fischer, 76, 3601 state Route 703, Lot 2, Celina, died at 12:50 p.m. Oct. 15, 2006, at her residence. She was born Aug. 19, 1930, in Celina, to Lamoil and Blanch Lehman Jenkins. On June 3, 1967, she married James Fischer, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Rick (Diane) Carey, Dale City, Va., and Tim (Linda) Carey, Celina; three daughters, Vickie (Mike) Philips, Greenville; Tina (Ronald) Smith, Celina, and Julie (James) McDonald, Westland, Mich.; two brothers, Calvin and John Jenkins, both of Celina; a sister, Linda Jenkins, Celina; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Deceased are two brothers, James and Cleve Jenkins. She retired from the Huffy Bicycle Corporation, Celina, and was a 1948 graduate of Celina High School. Lester Otting, 87, formerly of Fort Loramie Swanders Road, Fort Loramie, died at 12:30 a.m. Oct. 17, 2006, at Fair Haven County Home, Sidney, where he was a resident for 42 years. He was born June 25, 1919, in McCartyville, to Bernard and Anna Daniel Otting. Surviving is a brother-in-law, Alvin Schulze, St. Marys; four nephews and three nieces. Deceased are three brothers, Herbert, Clarence and Edwin; and two sisters, Victoria Otting and Dolores Schulze. He worked on the county home farm for many years and was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie. Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Rosemary T. Leugers Monnin, 59, of West Main Street, Fort Loramie, died at 6:50 p.m. Oct. 16, 2006, at her home following an 11-year battle with cancer. She was born Oct. 7, 1947, in Piqua, to Edward H. and Mary V. Vonderheide Leugers. Her mother survives in Piqua. She married Michael J. Monnin, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Thomas Harvey and Francis Monnin, both of Fort Loramie; two daughters, Jayme (Carl) Lore, St. Marys, and Missy (Joe) Simmons, Yorkshire; two brothers, David and Edward Leugers, both of Minster; four sisters, Doris Frock, Piqua, Janice (Joe) Otting and Janet Koverman, all of Minster, and Marilyn (Jerry) Seigel, New Bremen; and four grandchildren. She was employed at Derby Fabricating Inc., Sidney, and was a 1966 graduate of Minster High School. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 1391, Minster. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Former Celina resident John E. Saddler, 85, died at 7:50 a.m. Oct. 17, 2006, at the Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford. He was born June 6, 1921, to Oscar D. and Lela C. Burke Saddler. On April 4, 1953, he married Jean A. Hall, who died Feb. 10, 2006. Survivors are a son, Gary (Betsy), Bowling Green; a daughter, Sherry (Steve) Chandler, Rock Hill, S.C.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Deceased are two brothers, Eugene and Robert; and a sister, Marjorie Gibbs. He owned and operated J&J Enterprise, Celina, from 1966-2003, selling Kirby Sweepers. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He graduated from Cridersville High School and attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Celina. Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Douglas Meyer officiating. Burial is at North Grove Cemetery with military honors provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5713 and American Legion Post 210, both of Celina. Cyril Henry Seger, 80, of Willman St., Fort Loramie, died at 10:25 a.m. Oct. 17, 2006, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster. He was born Feb. 19, 1926, in Fort Loramie, to Anthony J. and Pauline M. Ernst Seger. On Nov. 7, 1953, he married Evelyn C. Frankenberg Seger, who survives. Also surviving are four sons, Paul (Teresa), Eric (Connie) and David (Pam), all of Fort Loramie, and Bernard (Darlene), Sidney; two daughters, Peggy (Wilson) Monnin, Sidney, and Anita (Jeff) Schwartz, Fort Loramie; two sisters, Vera (Tom) Schwartz, Fort Loramie, and Velma (Jack) Friemering, Celina; a sister-in-law, Shirley, Fort Loramie; 17 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Deceased are a brother, Walter; a sister, Rita Zavislan; and a brother-in-law, Tom Zavislan. He retired in 1969 from the Fort Loramie Post Office, where he was a rural route mail carrier, and had worked at Ferguson Construction until 1960. He was a village of Fort Loramie zoning enforcement officer; zoning officer for McLean Township; and part-owner of White Oak Lake. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the 102nd Infantry during World War II. He was a 1944 graduate of Fort Loramie High School and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, where he previously served on the buildings and grounds committee and hall board. He also was a member of American Legion Post 355, Fort Loramie, where he served on the Firing Squad, was a past commander and a chicken fryer for 37 years. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with full military honors by the American Legion.
