Jeff Harden Former Versailles resident Jeff Scott Harden, 40, of Mountain Lake, Minn., died Oct. 24, 2006, at Mountain Lake. Death was due to natural causes. He was born April 20, 1966, in Greenville. His father, James Champ, survives in Fort Recovery, and his mother, Ann Marchal Link, survives in Versailles. His stepfather, Alvin Harden, survives in Indiana, and his stepmother, Peg Champ, survives in Fort Recovery. Also surviving are a daughter, Lisa, Canton; three brothers, Daniel McCarty, Bradford, Lee Link, Versailles, and Zachary Champ, Fort Recovery; and four sisters, Deanna Davis and Christy Hunt, both of Greenville, Jodie Black, New Weston, and Rebecca Mincer, of Georgia. Deceased are a stepfather, Wilford Link; and a brother, Bill McCarty. He was a tool and die maker at Bolzer Inc., Mountain Lake. Services were at 2 p.m. Oct. 30, 2006, at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, the Rev. David Vincent officiated. Burial was at Ansonia Cemetery. Larry Hicks
Larry N. Hicks, 65, 300 Bruns Ave., Apt. 52, Celina, died at 4:15 p.m. Oct. 31, 2006, at Veterans' Medical Center, Dayton. He was born Jan. 25, 1941, in Prestonburg, Ky., to Ezra and Areda Hall Hicks. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Herb Slaven. All are deceased. Survivors are a companion, Sharon Hicks Lange, Celina; three brothers, Herb (Barb) Slaven, Botkins, Jim Slaven, Lima, and Martin Slaven, Lima; and five sisters, Vicki Burkhart, Deb (Tim) Williams and Stacy (Tom) Spurlock, all of St. Marys, Vina (Gerald) Woods, Celina, and Mary Tremmel, Omaha, Neb. Deceased are two brothers, Jackie Hicks and Charles Slaven; and a sister, Brenda Sue Rose. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served as a paratrooper. Alvina M. Thieman, 92, 2184 Amsterdam Road, Minster, died at noon Oct. 31, 2006, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster, where she resided two years and 10 months. She was born Oct. 1, 1914, in Minster, to John and Mary Sommer Thieman. Survivors are a brother, Victor E., Kettering; and a sister, Elsie E., Minster. Deceased are two brothers, Leonard F. and Walter B.; and a sister, Luetta Franzer. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and a former member of St. Monica Ladies Sodality, both of Minster. Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Louis Schmit officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery. Calling is 2-6 p.m. Sunday and 9-9:30 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster. |
