Thomas Homan

Celina native Thomas Robert Homan, 54, of Wyoming Street, Dayton, died at 10:45 p.m. April 22, 2004, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.
   He was born Oct. 28, 1949, in Celina, to Wilfred and Mary Kay Weitzel Homan.
   Surviving are two brothers, Michael (Carol) of Englewood, and Chuck of Dayton; and a sister-in-law, Lugene of Centerville.
   Deceased are a brother, Ron, and a sister, Deb.
   A 1968 graduate of Coldwater High School, he worked at BP in Centerville. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) post 9927, Kettering, and a life member of VFW post 5135, Coldwater.
   Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, the Rev. Ronald Wilker officiating. Burial is at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
   Calling is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.


Marie Kennedy

Marie Theresa Kennedy, 85, of Celina, died April 23, 2004, at The Gardens at Celina. She formerly resided at St. LeonardŐs Franciscan Center, Dayton.
   She was born July 20, 1918, in St. Henry, to Jacob and Theresa Gels Kramer. Her husband, Edward J. Kennedy, died July 8, 1995.
   Surviving is a brother, the Rev. William Kramer, C.PP.S., of Carthagena; three sisters, Sister Mary Ruth of Coldwater, Rita Gusten, Kettering, and Dorothy (Leo) Brandewie, Celina; and a brother-in-law, Walter (Marion) of Seminole, Fla.
   She was a nurse in the Dayton community for 35 years, working at Miami Valley Hospital, Veterans Administration and Montgomery County Health Department. She also was the supervising nurse for Kettering Schools and taught student nurses at St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing and Dayton Mental Hospital. She served as a volunteer teacher for the American Red Cross, Camp Nursing and was a secretary for South Dayton Mental Health.
   She graduated from Coldwater High School, St. RitaŐs School of Nursing, Lima, and the University of Dayton. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, a former member of St. Albert the Great Parish, Dayton, and a member of the Dayton Catholic WomenŐs Club and Companions of the Precious Blood.
   Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Ronald Wilker officiating. Burial is at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
   Calling is 4-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
   Contributions can be made to the St. LeonardŐs Benevolent Fund, Missionaries of the Precious Blood or State of the Heart Home Health and Hospice.
