Maxine Laffin

Maxine J. Laffin, 87, County Road 33A, St. Marys, died at 2:58 p.m. Aug. 16, 2004, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
   Arrangements are pending at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.


Celesta Lochtefeld

Fort Recovery native Celesta M. Lochtefeld, 80, 108 W. Russell Road, Sidney, died at 7:10 p.m. Aug. 14, 2004, at The Pavilion nursing home, Sidney.
   She was born Sept. 29, 1923, in Fort Recovery, to Joe and Anna Jutte Huelskamp. On Nov. 8, 1952, she married Eugene Paul Lochtefeld who survives.
   Also surviving are three sons, Robert Joseph (Theresa) of Columbus, David of Salt Lake City, and Anthony (Brenda) of Boston; two daughters, Linda (Mark) Harris, Troy, and Susan (Jeff) Erbes, Piqua; a brother, Ivo (Norma) Huelskamp, Topeka, Kan.; three sisters, Ethel (Carl) Boerger, St. Henry, Norma (Bill) Minneman, Clayton, and Dolores (Bob) Lange, Chaffee, Mo.; and 13 grandchildren.
   Deceased are two brothers, Virgil and Urban Huelskamp, and three sisters, Wilma Huelskamp, Sister Ann Margaret Huelskamp and Marjorie Wourms.
   She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sidney.
   Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Gerald Bensman officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney.
   Calling is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home, Sidney.
   Contributions can be made to the Holy Angels Endowment Fund.


Ralph Tumbusch

Ralph H. Tumbusch, 77, 511 E. Washington St., St. Henry, died at 1:35 p.m. Aug. 15, 2004, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
   He was born Sept. 4, 1926, in Cassella, to William and Rose Schemmel Tumbusch. On May 22, 1954, he married Mary Boeckman who survives.
   Also surviving are three sons, Randy (Nancy) and Kevin (Sheila), all of St. Henry, and Dan (Lisa) of Minster; and four daughters, Linda (Gary) Zehringer, Fort Recovery, Judy (Dennis) Bergman, Yorkshire, Elaine (Ralph) Pickering, Celina, and Janice (Mike) Feltz, St. Henry.
   Other survivors include two brothers, Wilfred (Betty) of North Star and Barney (Olive) of New Bremen; three sisters, Mary (Victor) Hess, Coldwater, Bertha Heitbrink, Maria Stein, and Betty (Ron) Hilgefort, Montezuma; two brothers-in-law, Othmar Homan, Maria Stein, and Bill (Jane) Boeckman, Coldwater; four sisters-in-law, Rita, Ethel, Mary Agnes and Eileen Boeckman, all of Coldwater; 20 grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are a brother, Jerome; a sister, Rita Homan; and two grandchildren.
   He was former owner and operator of Tumbusch Construction in St. Henry and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, the American Legion Post, St. Henry, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Coldwater, and a former member of St. Henry Kiwanis Club.
   Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Larry Wyen officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with the Legion conducting military rites.
   Calling is 2-8 p.m. today and 9-10:15 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.


Ruby Uhrick

Ruby Irene Uhrick, 79, 107 S. Green St., Mendon, died at 7:30 a.m. Aug. 16, 2004, at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
   She was born Oct. 7, 1924, in Fort Recovery, to Fred and Myrtle Stowell Reynolds. On April 15, 1950, she married Harry A. Uhrick, who died July 30, 1991.
   Surviving are two sons, Robert D. (Vicky L.) Fields and Allen (Chris) Uhrick, all of Mendon; three stepsons, Orlie Uhrick, Circleville, Charles Uhrick, Florida, and Larry (Mary) Uhrick, Morrisonville, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Isabelle (Mike) Seyler, Union City, Ind.; a sister, Juanita Manor, Portland, Ind.; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are a son, Raymond Fields; three brothers and a sister.
   She retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys, and had been a member of Celina Moose Lodge.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Mendon, the Rev. Dean Bruce officiating. Burial will follow at Mendon Cemetery.
   Calling is 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
   Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
