Vernon Brumbaugh

Vernon V. "Bud" Brumbaugh, 87, of Celina, died at 11 a.m. May 30, 2006, at Vancrest Health Care Center, Van Wert, where he was a patient since February.
   He was born April 21, 1919, in Greenville, to William Turpen and Anna Christina Bauer Brumbaugh. On April 8, 1938, he married Jean Marie Hileman, who died Nov. 16, 1995.
   Surviving are a son, Gary (Linda), Defiance; a daughter, Dee (Rex) Miller, Willshire; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are a son Allan D. and a great-grandchild.
   He was a construction laborer and a driver for the Amish. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Rockford, and attended the Lord's Church, Celina.
   Services are 1 p.m. Monday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, the Rev. Randy Christian officiating.
   Calling is 1-8 p.m. Sunday and after noon on Monday at the funeral home.
   Contributions can be made to Vancrest Health Care Center, Van Wert, or to the Lord's Church, Celina.


Roberta Davis

Former Ansonia resident Roberta Ann Davis, 75, died Jan. 6, 2006, at Hy-Lond Convalescent Hospital in Merced, Calif.
   She was born Nov. 3, 1930, near Ansonia, to Herbert and Ester Martin Roll. She was married to Jesse Davis, who is deceased.
   Surviving are two sons, Keith, address unknown, and Vince, Merced; two daughters, Gwenn (Tom) Rogers, Ammon, Idaho, and Pamela Davis, Redwood Valley, Calif.; three brothers, Gerald (Dola) Roll, Greenville, Byron (Darlene) Roll, Bellefontaine and Dwight (Barbara) Roll, Punta Gorda, Fla.; a sister, Carolyn Brandon, Celina; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are a brother, Nevin, and a grandson.
   She was a homemaker and 1948 graduated of Ansonia High School.
   Graveside services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Abbottsville Cemetery, near Greenville, the Rev. Richard Van Horn officiating.
   There will be no visitation.
   Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina, is in charge of arrangements.


Betty Harter

Betty J. Harter, 80, of Celina, died at 2:44 a.m. May 31, 2006, at The Gardens of Celina.
   She was born Jan. 29, 1926, in Celina, to Hiram and Lillian L. McDonald Miesse. On July 12, 1945, she married Dale Harter, who died Nov. 26, 2003.
   Surviving are three sons, Tim (Barb), Celina, Steve (Linda), Van Wert, and Ted (Becky), Bristol, Ind.; a daughter, Sue (Dan) Steinbrunner, Celina; two sisters-in-law, Terry Hesson, Celina, and Esther McElfresh, Germantown; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are three brothers Paul, Alvin and Glen Miesse, and two sisters, Carrie Gehle and Pauline Germann.
   She retired from Reynolds & Reynolds, Celina, and was a 1944 Celina High School graduate.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, Celina, the Rev. Steve Moulton officiating. Burial is at North Grove Cemetery, Celina.
   Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and 9:30 Saturday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.


Mary Plunkett

Mercer County native Mary K. Plunkett, 88, of Piqua and formerly of Fletcher, died at 8:10 a.m. May, 31, 2006, at Piqua Manor Nursing Home.
   She was born Nov. 18, 1917, in Mercer County, to Ora and Laurie R. Loades Dock. On Dec. 5, 1936, she married Robert Plunkett, who died May 13, 2001.
   Survivors are three sons, Fred (Pauline) and Jerry (Sylvia), all of Piqua, and James Plunkett, Chesapeake, Va.; a brother, Gene (Edna) Dock, St. Paul, Minn.;10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are three brothers, Jack, Dale, and Rex Dock.
   She attended Union Baptist Church and was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Dettmer Hospital, Troy.
   Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Suber-Shively Funeral Home, Fletcher, the Rev. Marilyn Hardman officiating. Burial is at Fletcher Cemetery.
   Calling is after 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.


JudithAnn Trisel

Celina native JudithAnn Trisel, 58, of Holt, Mich., died May 30, 2006, at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, Mich.
   She was born April 7, 1948, in Celina, to Henry and Betty Donnerberg Bergman. Her mother survives in Ohio. Her husband of nine years, Paul, survives.
   Survivors are a son, Jack (Meredith) Furrow; three daughters, Tina (Mark) Voss, Kim Kistler, and Nicci (Kelly) Carpenter; three stepdaughters, Michelle DeLong, Jennifer Williams, and Ashley Trisel; 10 brothers, David (Kathy), Tom (Sandi), Jerald (Lynn), Stanley (Cyndi), Edward (Cindy), Alan (Becky), Bruce (Rhonda), Terrance (Rhonda), Mark (Dana), and Ronald (Melissa) Bergman, all of New Bremen; seven sisters, Nancy (Jerry) Koester, Sandy (Dale) Schafer, MaryJo (Dave) Bellman, Christine (Brad) Hausfeld, Phyllis (Vince) Cuda, Peg (Dan) Harrod, and Sara (Mike) McNulty, all of New Bremen; mother-in-law, Pat Trisel; four grandchildren and four stepgrandchildren.
   She was a promotional salesperson for over 20 years in the Lansing area. She was the first female president of the Holt Kiwanis Club and a member of the Olivet Baptist Church, Lansing. She volunteered with Relay for Life and March of Dimes.
   Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Judson Memorial Baptist Church, Lansing, the Rev. Edgar L. Owens officiating. Burial is at Maple Ridge Cemetery.
   Calling is 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. tosday at Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel and after 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
   Contributions can be made to the Holt Kiwanis Der Happy Hollow Park.


Howard Winget

Celina native Howard L. Winget, "Bud," 63, died at 3:15 p.m. May 29, 2006, at The Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus, of injuries received in a May 28 traffic accident in Shawnee Township.
   He was born May 5, 1943, in Celina, to Howard L. Sr. and Garnet Dooley Winget. On Jan. 6, 1968, he married Diana K. Hoenie, who survives in Elida.
   Also surviving are two daughters, Julia S. (Gregory) Soules, Waynesfield, and Jennifer N. (Dustin) Bryan, Columbus Grove; an adopted son, James (Barbara) Wiechart, Danville, Ky.; five siblings and six grandchildren.
   He retired as a forklift operator, after 34 years of service at Ford Motor Company, Ohio Engine Plant, Lima. He worked at the former Mersman Furniture Factory, Celina, and was a former Sohio Gas Station owner. He was a member of the Celina Coast Guard Auxiliary and Woodlawn Baptist Church, Lima. He was instrumental in the church sanctuary remodeling project.
   Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, the Rev. John Heyward officiating. Burial is at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
   Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and after noon Saturday at the funeral home.
