Winifred Davidson

Winifred M. "Winnie" Davidson, 90, of Versailles, died at 7:15 p.m. June 3, 2006, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.
   She was born Dec. 2, 1915, in Frenchtown, to Leo and Ethel Simon McEldowney. On June 29, 1940, she married Robert J. Davidson, who is deceased.
   Survivors are four sons, Jim (Linda), Gary (Marcia), Pat, and Steve (Beverly), all of Versailles; two daughters, Cheryl (Roger) Magoto, Versailles, and Pam (Dann) Widener, Rossburg; three brothers, Cletus (Pat) McEldowney, Arcanum, John (Joyce) McEldowney, Versailles, and Jerry McEldowney, St. Marys; four sisters, Bertha Young and Thelma Shade, both of Versailles, Jeannette Monnin, Russia, and Virginia Weyandt, Celina; 10 grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a stepgreat-grandchild.
   Deceased is a sister, Katherine McClurg.
   She was a homemaker and employed by the former Buckeye Overall Factory, Versailles. She was a cook for the Knights of Columbus, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2347, Versailles, and other organizations. She was a member of the St. Denis Catholic Church, Versailles. She was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and served at president three times.
   Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. David Vincent officiating. Burial is at the St. Valbert Catholic Church Cemetery, Versailles.
   Calling is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles. Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary prayer service is 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Erna Schumm

Erna W. Schumm, 93, of Convoy, died at 10:40 p.m. June 4, 2006, at Van Wert County Hospital.
   She was born Oct. 3, 1912, in Adams County, Ind., to William J. and Anna Haugk Klenk. She married Arthur W. Schumm who is deceased.
   Survivors are four sons, Ralph (NaDonna), Bluffton, Ind., David (Lois), Thousand Oaks, Calif., and Richard (Ann) and Ronald (Shirley), all of Van Wert; a daughter, Mary (James) Van Fleet, Westerville; a sister, Alma Springer, Ossian, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and a great-great- grandchildren.
   Deceased are four brothers, William, Arthur, Karl and Ferd Klenk and a sister, Johanna Weber.
   She was a homemaker and formerly worked at Betty's Restaurant and Pete's IGA, both in Convoy; and Williman's IGA and Rager's Meats, both in Van Wert. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Convoy, and the Van Wert Chapter Red Hatters.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church the Rev. Michael Saylor officiating. Burial is in Convoy I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
   Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Gearhart, Mack & Jurczyk Funeral Home, Convoy, and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
   Contributions can be made to the church radio broadcast or Van Wert Area Visiting Nurses Association.

David Slusser

David A. Slusser, 86, Celina, died June 5, 2006, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
   Arrangements are pending at W.H. Dick and Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina.
