Construction to start later this year on ER unit in Coldwater

The green light was given this week for a nearly $3 million construction project at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.

An advisory committee working on the proposal for a new county jail has recommended that Mercer County commissioners put a 1/2 percent sales tax to pay for construction of a new jail before voters in the November election.
The1/2 percent tax was one of three recommendations of the seven-member committee presented to county commissioners Thursday afternoon by Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey. [More]

The dilemma of priest shortages has hit all religious orders including the Missionaries of the Precious Blood, whose priests currently serve a slight majority of Catholic parishes in the local region. [More]
