Out in blizzard conditions
Photo by Shelley Grieshop/The Daily Standard

Vehicles travel about 40 mph along U.S. 127 on Tuesday afternoon as a snowstorm arrives in the Grand Lake area. A foot of snow led Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey to issue a Level 3 snow emergency, which closed the roadways to everyone except emergency vehicles and essential employees such as farmers looking after livestock. The Level 3 emergency was lifted this morning.
