An arctic cold front will move quickly east across the region through daybreak. This will usher in a much colder airmass with temperatures quickly falling below freezing.
Snow showers can be expected this morning with snow accumulations of a half inch or less possible. This will combine with the falling temperatures to produce slick spots on untreated roadways. In addition, brisk west winds will gust to 25 to 35 mph at times this morning.
The morning commute will be affected by these conditions. Please allow for some extra time to reach your destination. Be prepared for slick spots, especially on bridges an overpasses.

Eleanor Welker
Eleanor Glee Welker, 88, 117 Green St., Mendon, died at 8:20 p.m. April 24, 2007, at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
She was born Aug. 16, 1918, in Arlington, to Harvey and Hazel Rinehart Orwick. On May 23, 1942, she married Lowell A. Welker, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Eric (Bonita), Mendon; three daughters, Caral (William) Snider, Mendon, June (Gordon) Gingrich, Aurora, Colo., and Jane Amstutz, Clermont, Fla.; a sister, Dorothy Underwood, Lexington, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren and 12 step great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Harvey Orwick; a sister, Rebecca Decker; and a grandson.
She worked as a registered nurse for 45 years at various facilities in the area; was a member of Mendon United Methodist Church and its Women's Society of Christian Service and the Doll Collector's of Ohio; and was a 1940 graduate of St. Rita's Hospital School of Nursing, Lima.
Private services will be held for the family, the Rev. Charles Eagle officiating. Burial is at Goodwin Cemetery, Elgin.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Mendon.
