Margaret Knost
Margaret "Peg" L. Knost, 63, 31 S. Main St., New Bremen, died at 11:55 a.m. June 5, 2007, at her residence. Death was due to natural causes.
She was born Aug. 8, 1943, in New Bremen, to Paul and Ruth (Gilberg) Ritter. Her mother survives in New Bremen. On Oct. 12, 1968, she married John R. Knost, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Andrew, Centerville, and Matthew (Cheryl), Christiansburg, Va.; a daughter, Jeanette (Mike) Staton, New Bremen; two brothers, Bill (Margaret) Ritter and Paul (Bettye) Ritter, both of New Bremen; a sister-in-law, Sue Ritter Burnell, New Bremen; and four grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Joseph Ritter.
She currently was working in the Early Childhood Intervention program at the ABC Center, New Bremen; owned and operated the former Peggy's Beauty Shop, Minster; and was a manager of the New Bremen Swimming Pool.
She was a member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, New Bremen, where she taught CCD classes and was a Eucharistic minister. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 241, New Bremen, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary Post 1391, Minster.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial is at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is 3-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and 9:30-10:10 a.m. Friday at the church.
Contributions can be made to the ABC Center or State of the Heart Home Health and Hospice.
