Urban Kramer
Urban Kramer, 84, of Minster died at 9:15 a.m. Aug. 30, 2007, in Minster following an extended illness.
He was born June 4, 1923, in Cassella to Frank and Rosalena Bergman Kramer. On Dec. 6, 1944, he married Mary E. Utz, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Larry (Diana), St. Marys and Robert (Susan), New Bremen; a daughter, Kathie (Robert) Teague, New Bremen; three brothers, Victor (Verene), Osgood, Leroy (Doris), Newport, and Richard (Doris), Fort Loramie; four sisters, Alvera (Paul) Marchal, Versailles, Esther (Norman) Marchal, Fort Loramie, Irma Fleck, Coldwater, and Virginia (Ernest) Poeppelman, Yorkshire; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, James; brothers, Alfred and Alvin; a sister, Leona; and a brother-in-law, John Fleck.
He was an Auglaize County deputy sheriff for more than 50 years, worked at Stamco, New Bremen, for 35 years and was a member of the Minster Fire Department. He served in WWII in the Army Air Corps Air Transport Command and was a graduate of Minster High School, Chaffee College and United States Army Officers Training School. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, Fraternal Order of Eagles 1391 and American Legion Post 387, both of Minster, Buckeye State Sheriff's Association and was secretary of The Steel Workers Union.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery, where full military honors by the Minster Firing Squad will be held.
Calling will be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
