* WHEN...From Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

The aroma of chili wafted across the Mercer County Fairgrounds on Saturday for the second Mercer County Chili Festival. Fair board member Pat Schmitt grills hamburgers and hot dogs for the hungry crowd. Leisa Pearson garnered first-place honors in the chili cookoff with Randy Piper and Dana and Rhonda Runnion finishing second and third, respectively. The contest drew six entries.
