Small fires

Celina firefighters prepare to enter an upper floor at the former Mersman Furniture Co. along North Brandon Avenue after a fire was reported there at 4:42 p.m. Friday. Celina Police responded in addition to two fire trucks and 10 firefighters. Police Chief Dave Slusser said several small fires were found on the third floor with an investigation continuing to determine whether the fires were accidentally set as demolition work continues at the site or whether they were the result of juveniles playing in the area.
