How sweet it is
Photo by Shelley Grieshop/The Daily Standard

T.K. Klosterman of Coldwater cradles a 91/4-pound sweet potato that he recently dug from his garden. This was the first year Klosterman planted sweet potatoes. He did not use commercial fertilizers, just leaf compost he received from the village, he said. Many of the sweet potatoes he retrieved were extra large, including another that tipped the scale at 83/4 pounds.
