Avery Albers, dressed as Santa Claus complete with drooping beard, rides a wooden reindeer, above at left, as fellow students at Serendipity Nursery School in New Bremen remember hungry cats and dogs during the holiday season. Come spring, the youngsters enrolled at the school at St. Paul United Church of Christ will take a field trip to visit the society's animal shelter.
