The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Lavern Wellman
Lavern H. "Bud" Wellman, 78, formerly of Portland, Ind., died at 11:17 a.m. Dec. 25, 2007, at Adams Memorial Hospital, Decatur, Ind.
He was born Oct. 2, 1929, in Portland, to Phillip and Josephine Muhlenkamp Wellman.
Survivors are a son, Matt (Misty), Bluffton, Ind.; a daughter, Pam (Jeff) Timmerman, Fort Recovery; four sisters, Sally (Bill) Reier, St. Henry, Wilma (Jim) Pfeffenberger and Doris Grieshop, all of Celina, and Jeanette "Ginny" (Richard) Alig, Coldwater; a sister-in-law, Julianna, St. Henry; and five grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Norbert and Cletus; and a sister, Mildred Brunswick.
He was a retired farmer and also retired from Fruehauf Trailors Corporation, Fort Wayne, Ind. He was a U.S. Army veteran and member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-9:45 a.m. Friday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
