Russell King
Russell H. King, 85, died at 12:40 a.m. Dec. 6, 2007, at Otterbein-St. Marys Retirement Community.
He was born Feb. 20, 1922, in Grabill, Ind., to George and Ida Zerbe King. On June 18, 1946, he married Eileen Stevenson, who died April 5, 2005.
Survivors are two sons, Larry (Barbara), Buffalo Grove, ill., and Tim, Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Judy (David) Sims, Kalamazoo, Mich., and Sandra (John) Mulholland, Chicago, Ill.; a brother, Tom, Fort Wayne; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was a civil engineer and architect and a U.S. Navy Seabees veteran. He was a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church, St. Marys. He and his wife served as Christian missionaries with the United Methodist Church, first doing reconstruction work in the Phillipines from 1948-1951 and then designing buildings in India from 1951-1978. He was a 1940 graduate of Grabill High School and a graduate of Northwestern University.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Otterbein at the Meyer Community Chapel, the Rev. Carol Sainey officiating. This is a joint service with his deceased sister-in-law, Estrid Stevenson. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Arrangements are being handled by Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.
