Local residents should take precautions to try to prevent spread of disease
The flu virus is in full swing locally, and health officials are asking the public to take precautions to stop its spread.
"It's really quite bad right now," said Joyce Jansen, infectious disease control nurse for the Mercer County-Celina City Health Board.
After nearly three decades of use, the Celina City Police Department's base radio required for emergency communications and daily operations is officially "fried," Police Chief Dave Slusser told city council members this week.
Celina City Schools board of education met in a short, routine session Monday night where members approved purchase of a new bus.
"If we purchase this year we'll save $62,000 due to next year's state changes regarding emissions," Superintendent Matt Miller said following the meeting.
