Kenneth Wilkens
Kenneth D. Wilkens, 81, 2123 Deerfield Court, St. Marys, died at 5:30 a.m. March 13, 2008, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born July 1, 1926, in St. Marys, to Arty and Emma Burkhart Wilkens. On Nov. 18, 1967, he married Dorothy M. McDermitt-Wiehe, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Kevin (Janet), Manassas, Va.; a daughter, Kimberly Wiehe-Kaylor, Sidney; a sister, Onnolee (Eugene) Brodbeck, St. Marys; and five grandchildren.
He retired as a systems analyst from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in St. Marys after 44 years of service. He served multiple terms as a St. Marys Township trustee and was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, New Bremen, and the St. Marys Men's Garden Club. He was a 1947 graduate of Memorial High School, St. Marys, and the former Bliss Business College, Columbus.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Revs. Leah Matthews and Mark Brodbeck officiating. Burial is at the German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
