Ann Esmonde, left, and her daughter, Melanie Hesse, show off pecan and cherry pies. Esmonde began cooking and baking pies according to family tradition for customers in 1952 and retired 42 years later with a reputation as the "pie queen." Her daughter now bakes pies for the Orchard Tree Restaurant in Celina.
