Going high tech

Celina West Elementary student Nathan Fortkamp practices addition on one of the school's five Smart Boards during class this morning. The interactive system includes the whiteboard's touch-sensitive screen that connects to a computer which digitally projects the image. Students and teachers can simply use their hands or other instruments to control the computer's displayed command keys to interact with Internet, software or uploaded programs. The school also has compatible handheld remotes that students often use to input answers to problems or quizzes displayed on the board.
