The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Robert Stammen
Robert J. Stammen, 86, 219 E. Star Road, North Star, died at 7:30 a.m. May 26, 2008, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 14, 1921, in North Star, to Leo and Zita Grilliot Stammen. On Nov. 26, 1946, he married Loretta Liette, who survives.
Other survivors are four sons, Jerry (Linda), Versailles, Jim (Connie), Piqua, Jeff (Connie), Rossburg, and John (Christina), St. Charles, Ill.; two daughters, Lois (Steve) Knapke, Yorkshire, and Betty (Kent) Davis, North Star; three sisters, Joan Groff, Greenville, Mary Jean Wehrkamp, Rossburg, and Carol Selhorst, North Star; a sister-in-law, Wilma Stammen, North Star; 24 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Tom and Luke; and a sister, Ruth Hemmelgarn.
He was co-owner of North Star Hardware and Implement Co. He was a member of the American Legion and the St. Louis Catholic Church, both in North Star, and a WWII veteran having served in the U.S. Army.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. David Zink officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion, North Star.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry, and 9-10:10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
