Don Egbert
Don H. Egbert, 69, of 16030 McCartyville Rd., Anna, died at 5:45 p.m. July 7, 2008, in the emergency room of Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born on Oct. 31, 1938, in Kettlersville, to Harold and Mildred Nuesmeyer Egbert. On Sept. 10, 1960 he married Jane Greber, who survives near Kettlersville.
Other survivors are a son, Scott (Christine), Kettlersville; three daughters, Dawn (Lee) Dabbelt and Heather (Kris) Kuck, all of New Bremen, and Darlene (Scott) Pape of Dublin; a brother, Richard (Jean), New Knoxville; a sister, Phyllis, Sidney; and 11 grandchildren.
He retired in October, 2004, from ABF Freight System, Inc., Fort Smith, Ark., where he had been a professional truck driver for over 50 years. He and his wife were former owners of the K-Village Inn in Kettlersville. He was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Kettlersville. He was a member of the Kettlersville/Van Buren Township Fire Department and also served as zoning officer for the Village of Kettlersville. He was a 1956 graduate of Anna High School.
Services are 10:30 a.m.Friday at the church, the Rev. Charles Moeller officiating. Burial is at Willow Grove Cemetery, New Bremen.
  Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen and 9:30 -10:30 p.m. to service on Friday at the church. Area fire departmentswill hold a prayer service on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home and also on Friday by escorting the procession to the cemetery.
