Leon DeLoye
Leon J. DeLoye, 63, E. Park St., Fort Loramie, died at 1:10 a.m. July 26, 2008, at his residence. Death was due to pancreatic cancer.
He was born Feb. 12, 1945, in Fort Loramie to Francis H. and Victoria M. Steinke DeLoye Sr.. His mother survives in Fort Loramie. On July 3, 1965, he married Jacqueline L. Siegel, who survives at the residence.
Other survivors are three sons, Dan (Cheryl), Mike (Kim) and Lee, all of Fort Loramie; a brother Frank (Betty); a sister Ann (Roger) Chaney, all of Fort Loramie; a sister-in-law, Rhonda DeLoye of South Carolina; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Deceased is a brother, Donald "Duke" DeLoye.
He and his wife owned and operated K & K Trophy for the past 38 years. He was a member of the St. Michael Catholic Church and its Apostleship of Prayer, the Fort Loramie Community Service Club, formerly the Kiwanis Club, where he had been past president for two terms, a member of the Fort Loramie Chamber of Commerce, the Fort Loramie Athletic Boosters, the American Recognition Association, and, a past Liberty Day's Parade Co-Grand Marshall. He was a coach for the Fort Loramie Pee-Wee league, Little League and Acme League baseball teams. He also coached for the Piqua Jr. Legion team. He played softball for Filburn's, Bruckens and Town and Country League Teams and he was a 1963 graduate of Fort Loramie High School.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Gehret Funeral Home, Fort Loramie.
