Alvira Homan
Former Minster resident, Alvira R. Homan, 93, died at 12:10 a.m. Aug. 4, 2008, at Sunrise of Englewood.
She was born May 27, 1915, in St. Rose, to Frank and Anna Bomholt Stucke. On July 28, 1937, she married her first husband, Raymond F. Schwartz, who died Dec. 27, 1964. On Sept. 29, 1972, she married Raymond T. Homan, who died Nov. 26, 1986.
Surviving are four sons, Don (Mary) Schwartz, Botkins, Jerry (Mary Jane) Schwartz, Fort Loramie, Dave (Lorraine) Schwartz, Coldwater, and Mike (Vickie) Schwartz, Minster; a daughter Mary Lou (Bruce) Guy, Dayton; a stepson, Gene (Norma Jean) Homan, Coldwater; two stepdaughters, Evelyn (Dave) Hale, Indianapolis, and Doris Ann (Jerry) Will, Celina; three brothers, Art (Pat), Dayton, Werner (Vera), Maria Stein, and Lee (Kathy) Stucke, of California; 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 19 stepgrandchildren, 49 stepgrandchildren, and five stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers; four sisters; a great-grandchild and a stepgrandchild.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, and a former member of St. Monica Ladies Sodality and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, both in Minster.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
