The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Richard Blanke
Richard W. Blanke, 75, of New Bremen, died at 5:10 p.m. Sept. 10, 2008, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born on Oct. 17, 1932, near New Bremen, to Marvin and Bernice Schroeder Blanke. On April 21, 1956, he married Doris Broerman who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Bob (Sarah), Denver, Colo.; three daughters Valerie, Chicago, Ill., Vicki (Tom) Blaser, Findlay, and Dianne (Danny Williams), Denver, Colo.; and five grandchildren.
Deceased is a sister, Dorothy.
He was a farmer and a machinist for more than 20 years at the former Stamco plant in New Bremen. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ and the Home Benefit Association, both of New Bremen and a 1950 graduate of New Bremen High School.
Services are 1 p.m. Sunday at the church, the Rev. Leah Matthews officiating. Burial of his cremains is at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is 3-7 p.m. Saturday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home , New Bremen.
