A large tree lays in what used to be a computer room/guest bedroom at the Montezuma-area home of Ed and Rita Miller, 5397 Lakeside Drive. Heavy winds that buffeted the area downed the tree while the Millers were entertaining friends Sunday afternoon in the living room at the other end of the home.
The remnants of Hurricane Ike roared through the area Sunday afternoon causing damage to some property and downing power lines, but winds locally were not as high as the 80 mph reported in other parts of the state. [
