Norma Alexander
Norma M. Alexander, 73, 1008 Plymouth Ave., Piqua, died at 11:15 a.m. Oct. 28, 2008, at home.
She was born Sept. 7, 1935, in Minster, to John and Mary Dwenger Sturwold. On July 10, 1985, she married Warnie V. Alexander, who survives.
Other survivors are three stepdaughters, Lynn (John) Prater and Marcia (Keith) Kirk, all of North Port, Fla., and Sharon (David) Curtis, Hartzell, Ala.; five brothers, Clarence Sturwold, Vandalia, Ralph (Mary Ann) Sturwold, Fort Loramie, Wilbur Sturwold, Russia, Gilbert and John (Marlene) Sturwold, all of Minster; a sister, Irma (Charles) Wendeln, Maria Stein; three stepgrandchildren and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are a sister, Marilyn Gaerke; a brother-in-law, Virgil Gaerke; and two sisters-in-law, Helen and Mary Jane Sturwold.
She retired after 28 years from the former Val Decker Packing Company, Piqua, where she worked as a meat processor, and also worked for several years for Elder-Beerman, Piqua. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Piqua.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Angelo C. Caserta officiating. Burial is at Miami Memorial Park, Covington.
Calling is 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home, Piqua.
