Arthur Rammel
Arthur H. Rammel, 88, 1008 Garnet Court, Coldwater, died at 1:26 p.m. Nov. 10, 2008, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born March 25, 1920, in Burkettsville, to Joseph and Gertrude Hemmelgarn Rammel. On June 29, 1946, he married Norma Liette, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Larry (Vickie), Mechanicsburg; four daughters, Phyllis, Coldwater, Lois Stolzenburg and Kathy (Bob) Schulte, all of Celina, and Alicia, Dublin; a brother, Luke (Velma), St. Henry; a sister, Erma Wendel, Burkettsville; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Donald; a brother-in-law, Louis Wendel; and a sister-in-law, Agnes.
He was a retired supervisor at the former Huffy Bicycle Corp., Celina. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and its Men's Holy Name Society, the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and a past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, all of Coldwater. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the 2728 Combat Engineering Company in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Ronald Wilker officiating. Burial with military rites is at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
