* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Mattie Brockman
Former Fort Recovery resident Mattie Gabbard Brockman, 100, died Dec. 4, 2008, at Heartland of Greenville.
She was born on March 24, 1908 in Berea, Ky., to Daniel and Lena Evans Payne. On Feb. 23, 1923, she married James K. Gabbard, who died July 11, 1965. On Nov. 27, 1971, she married Henry C. Brockman, who died Nov. 6, 1991.
Surviving are a son, Ray Lee (Mary) Gabbard, Portland, Ind.; a step-son, Cy (Betty Jean) Brockman, Fort Recovery; a step-daughter-in-law, Lilliam Brockman, Fort Recovery; a brother, Vernon Payne, Berea, Ky.; a sister, Alene Croley, Berea, Ky.; 26 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great-grandchildren; and four great-great-great grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, six sisters, two daughters and a son.
She was a former employee of Hardy Corporation in Union City. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Church on the Jay/Randolph County line.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home, the Rev. Bruce Bryan officiating. Burial is at Pleasant Hill Cemetery on the Jay/Randolph County line.
