Thomas Brandt
Thomas Edward Brandt, 82, of Willshire, died at 4:10 a.m. Dec. 11, 2008, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 15, 1926, to Louis Ernest and Bernice Marie Colter Brandt. On Feb. 18, 1951, he married Dorothy Jane Rupert, who died June 30, 2008.
Surviving are two sons, Stephen (Tina) and Larry (Jackie), all of Willshire; three daughters, Susan (James) Sexson, Tucson, Ariz., Sandra (Ted) Bollenbacher, Rockford, and Lisa (Monte) Everett, Decatur, Ind.; a brother, Robert (Marge), Wapakoneta; a sister, Marilynne Schroer, St. Marys; a sister-in-law, Jean Brandt, of Idaho; nine grandchildren.
Deceased is an infant son, David; a brother, William; and a grandchild.
He was a farmer, retired after 26 years at National Seal, Van Wert, and drove for the Amish. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Chattanooga, and the National Farm Bureau, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Randall Swanson officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery with graveside military services conducted by the Willshire American Legion.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to services Monday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford.
