Margaret Pape
Former New Bremen resident Margaret Ann Pape, 90, died at 4:50 p.m. Dec. 11, 2008, at Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster, where she had been a resident for three years.
She was born Nov. 3, 1918, in Minster to Joseph and Frances Meyer Ritter. On Oct. 5, 1940, she married Paul A. Pape, who died Feb. 18, 1984.
Survivors include three sons, James (Donna) and Jeff (Kathy), all of New Bremen, and John (Janet), Celina; a sister, Ruth Ciriegio, Piqua; a sister-in-law, Ruth Ritter, New Bremen; and eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Paul Ritter Sr. and Arthur Ritter, and four sisters, Marion Brockert, Mabel Gast, Velma Steward and Henrietta Snider.
She retired from Crown Equipment Corp., New Bremen, in 1983. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer and the American Legion, both in New Bremen.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial will follow at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and 9:30-10:10 a.m. Monday at the church, when the rosary will be prayed.
Contributions can be made to Heritage Manor Nursing Center Activity Fund or State of the Heart Home Health Hospice.
