* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 104 possible.
* WHERE...Portions of east central and southeast Indiana, northeast and northern Kentucky, and central, south central, southwest, and west central Ohio.
* WHEN...From Sunday afternoon through Tuesday evening.
* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Consecutive days of excessive heat and humidity combined with very warm low temperatures can be especially hazardous as the overnight hours provide little relief from the heat. The heat may continue into Wednesday.

Loretta Froning
Loretta J. Froning, 87, 85 S. Frankfort St., Minster, died at 8:13 p.m. Dec. 21, 2008, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster.
She was born Dec. 12, 1921, in Maria Stein, to Joseph and Veronica Brackman Giere. On May 16, 1942, she married her first husband, William Schwartz, who died May 14, 1975. On Nov. 13, 1976, she married Sylvester Froning, who died Jan. 20, 1987.
Surviving are her children, Jeanette Schwartz, Cincinnati, Carol (Doyle) Stetler, Lima, and Robert (Karen) Schwartz, Fort Loramie; four stepchildren, Jim (Nell) Froning, St. Joe, Fla., Mary (Tom) Omeara, Madison, Wisc., Martha (Jack) Shachter, Pales Heights, Ill., and Dr. John (Betty) Froning, Pewee Valley, Ky.; a brother, Edmund (Jeanette) Giere, Maria Stein; a granddaughter and numerous great-grandchildren and stepgrandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Otto, Aloys and Alvin Giere; and three sisters, Cordula Post, Julie Gehret and Regina Brush.
She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, and the Knights of St. John Auxiliary, Fort Loramie.
Funeral Mass is 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3-6 p.m. Friday and 8:30-9 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
