* WHEN...From 7 PM EDT this evening through Monday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and thunderstorms producing heavy rain will impact the area overnight. Rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches are expected with locally higher amounts. The heavy rain combined with saturated ground will lead to potential flash flooding.

* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, State Route 117 near Route 118 north of Rockford is water-covered and closed.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Vernon Hicks
Former Mendon resident, Vernon R. Hicks, 67, of Bradford, died at 5:43 p.m. Feb. 1, 2009, at Wayne Hospital, Greenville.
He was born Nov. 21, 1941, in Langley, Ky., to Charles Edward and Naomi Osborne Hicks. On March 24, 1962, he married Shirley Demar, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Donnie (Rene), St. Marys; two daughters, Brenda S. (Glenn) Hill, St. Marys, and Tina M. (Mark) Harrelson, Tollhouse, Calif.; a brother, Eugene (Brenda), Mendon; five sisters, Wanda Mahaffey of Arkansas, Phyllis (Everett) Lauth, Pauline (Wayne) Miller, Bonita (Eric) Welker and June (Dennis) Dorsten, all of Mendon; six grandchildren.
Deceased are a bronther, Donnie Edward, and three sisters, Mary Agnes Hicks, Dolores Derossett and Joy Brodnicki.
He was retired as general manager of Denny's Restaurant, Dayton, and attended Mendon-Union High School. He later earned his GED. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the U.S. and Germany.
Services are 10 a.m. Friday at Mendon First Church of God, the Rev. Dean Bruce officiating. Burial is at Mendon Cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Mendon, and 9-10 a.m. Friday at the church.
