Mary Franks
Mary A. Franks, 80, 103 Garman Ave., Celina, died at 1:45 p.m. Feb. 6, 2009, at her residence.
She was born in Jefferson Township, April 14, 1928, to Melvin and Rosa Shanks Smart. On May 25, 1946, she married Lando O. Franks, who died March 9, 2006.
Surviving are a daughter, Virginia (Jerry) Miller, Celina; two sisters, Mildred Newland and Bertha McCrary, both of Celina; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two stillborn sons, a daughter, Cheryl Lynn Franks, two brothers, Homer and Eugene Smart; a sister, Gladys Smart; and two brothers-in-law, Joe Newland and Calvin McCrary.
She was formerly employed as a switchboard operator and receptionist for the former New Idea, Coldwater, and retired from Fanning/Howey Associates, Inc., Celina.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Rick Brosher officiating. Burial is at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
