Olivia Mescher
Olivia M. Mescher, age 87 of Osgood, died at 12:04 a.m. Feb. 21, 2009, at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater.
She was born Feb. 21, 1922, in St. Henry, to Benedict and Mary Ann Thieman Quinter. On May 13, 1947, she married Vincent Mescher, who died Oct. 19, 2001.
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth, Sidney, and Daniel (Jeanne), Osgood; three daughters, Joann (Lawrence) Grisez, Ft. Loramie, Janet (Kimberly) Folkerth and Mary (Joseph) Bruening, all of Yorkshire; a brother, Herbert Quinter, St. Henry; 11 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
Deceased are two infant children; two brothers Clarence and Edward; five sisters, Margaret Fiely, Mary Rutschilling Fisher, Catherine Brunswick, Veronica Stachler and Anna Marie Hart.
She worked as a custodian at Marion Local Schools and was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, St. Barbara's Rosary Alter Sodality, and the American Legion Auxiliary, all in Osgood.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. David Zink officiates.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster. Burial is at St. Martin Cemetery, Osgood.
Contributions can be made to the Osgood Rescue Squad, the Osgood Fire Department or State of the Heart Hospice.
