Pictured is the Mercer County Home, which has served the local area since 1865. Only county residents are eligible to live there after meeting necessary criteria. Before becoming the county home, the facility served as an orphanage and a mental institution. Today it houses 22 residents, as well as Superintendent Jerry Moeder and his family.
