* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Southerly winds will increase today ahead of an approaching cold front. Sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph can be expected with gusts of 35 to 45 mph at times this afternoon. Be sure to secure outdoor objects.

Hugh Sherman
Hugh U. Sherman, 84, of Sidney, died at 2:28 p.m. March 28, 2009, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 25, 1925, in Fort Loramie to Louis and Frances Fleckenstein Sherman. On Nov. 8, 1952, he married Mary Jane Moorman, who survives.
Other survivors are seven children, Louis R. (Jenny K.) Sherman, Botkins, Nancy M. (Jerry) Ranly, Minster, Jill E. Sherman, Piqua, Toinette L. (Don) Alexander, Sidney, Jannis A. (Bill) Sherman, Minster, Amy K. (David) Muhlenkamp, Troy, and Forrest H. (Debonair L.) Sherman, Sidney; two sisters, Mary Tebbe, Anna, and Ruth Strayer, Sidney; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three sisters, Bertha Zink, Rita Couchot and Louise Sherman; and a great-grandson.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Fort Loramie, the Rev. Daniel Schmitmeyer officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Gehret Funeral Home, Fort Loramie.
