Mary Schwieterman
Mary G. Schwieterman, 84, 4188 Harrison Road, Montezuma, died at 5:48 p.m. April 14, 2009, at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater.
She was born July 21, 1924, in St. Henry, to Otto and Philomena Schmitz Tobe. On Sept. 6, 1947, she married Harold Schwieterman, who died April 10, 1974.
Survivors are two sons, Jerome (Diane) Schwieterman, Chickasaw, and Louis (Tammy) Schwieterman, Montezuma; a daughter, Marian (Bob) Heitbrink, Chickasaw; two sisters, Cam (Paul) Wenning, Coldwater, and Donna Jean (Walt) Zagar, Chardon; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Tobe, Fort Recovery, and Mary Jane Birt, Coldwater; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Otto Jr., Clete and Joe; and a sister, Bernadine Scherra.
She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Montezuma, its Ladies Rosary Altar Sodality, and head of the lunch committee at the church, the American Legion, and Knights of St. John Auxiliaries in Maria Stein and the Sacred Heart Auto Club. She was a volunteer at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. James Dugal officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
