* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Paul Gariety
Paul N. Gariety, 81, of Russia, died at 1:53 a.m. July 1, 2009, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 6, 1927, in Darke County to Leo and Teresa Dapore Gariety. On Sept. 8, 1954, he married Iona M. Brunswick, who survives.
Other survivors are, a son, Dennis Gariety, Russia; two daughters, Diane Siegrist, Maria Stein, and Darlene (Matt) Monnin, Russia; a brother, Carl (Esther) Gariety, Russia; two sisters, Mary (Jerry) Thobe, Tipp City, and Joann (Jack) Shipley, Haymarket, Va.; and six grandchildren.
He retired from General Motors and also was a farmer. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia, the Russa Catholic War Veterans Post and United Auto Workers Local.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia, the Rev. Eugene F. Vonderhaar officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery with military graveside services conducted by the Russia Catholic War Veterans.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles.
