Busy day of MAC golf at Mercer County Elks

The Mercer County Elks was loaded with high school golf on Monday, as four different matches took place on the day.
The highlight matches were on the back nine as St. Henry and Coldwater matched up in Midwest Athletic Conference boys and girls action.
The Redskins posted the sweep in conference dual matches. The St. Henry boys edged out Coldwater 175-180 while the Redskin girls posted one of their best scores of the young season to beat the Lady Cavaliers, 186-224, while improving to 3-1 in the conference.
St. Henry-Coldwater Boys
Both teams kept their scores in the 40s for the most part, but St. Henry was able to keep a shot a head of their counterparts in every pairing.
Doug Bruns paced the Redskins with the medalist round of 41. Todd Wehr-kamp added a 44 with Nathan Clune and Craig Kremer rounding out the scoring rounds with matching 45s. Chad Gerlach finished out the round with a 47 with Jarrett Barlage finishing with a 51.
"It sounded like all the kids had trouble and they had trouble all together," said St. Henry coach Charlie Maier. "Actually, the course was great I thought. ... That was really a close battle."
Coldwater got a solid 42 from Alex Kramer. Nick Fisher shot a 45 wiith Matt Kaiser carding a 46. Todd Reigelsperger picked up the fourth scoring spot with a 47 while Jordan Diller and Alex Bruggeman each carded a 48.
St. Henry-Coldwater girls
The Redskins posted their best nine-hole score of the season in pulling away from the Cavaliers. All four scoring golfers for St. Henry shot in the 40s, compared to just one sub-50 score for the Cavaliers.
Kendra Rindler posted the low-score of the match, shooting a 43.
"Golfers 1-4 really played well for us," said Redskins coach John Dorner. "...Anytime we've got girls golfing bogey golf, I'm real pleased with that.
"Kendra's playing real well for us now. Ashley (Kunkler) was golfing for us in the low 40s. Now the last couple matches, Kendra's become medalist. We're heading the right direction."
Rounding out the scoring rounds for St. Henry were Kunkler's 47, Chelsea Tobe (48) and Shelby Link (48). Morgan Breitlgam and Nora Dorner rounded out the Redskins' six with rounds of 64 and 74, respectively.
Coldwater was led by Ashley Evers' 49. Melissa Hogenkamp shot a 55 while Stephanie Giere added a 57.
Other matches at The Elks
New Knoxville 185, Fort Recovery 213
The Rangers picked up their first MAC match win of the season to keep the Indians winless at 0-3.
Tyler Shreve and Marcus Reineke led the Rangers with rounds of 42 and 44.
Fort Recovery's Jared Kahlig earned medalist honors on the day with a round of 41 while teammate Hayden Pottkotter added a 55.
Anna 166, Marion Local 173, Mississinawa Valley 218
The Rockets took the trimatch thanks to co-meadlist rounds of 41 from Trey Billing and Brandon Heitman.
Monte Imwalle and Travis Winner carded rounds of 42 to pace the Flyers while teammate Andrew Kremer added a 44.
