The Miami and Erie Canal north and south of Monroe Street (state Route 274) in New Bremen is a beehive of activity with two projects in various stages. A construction crew continues framing the second floor of the three-story lockkeeper's house. When complete next year, the building will house the Southwestern Auglaize County Chamber of Commerce, the Canal Corridor Association and canal-related displays from the New Bremen Historic Association.
