Carl Fox
Carl Nathan "Steve" Fox, 87, died at 9:55 p.m. Jan. 1, 2010, at Bright View Assisted Living Center, Catonsville, Md.
He was born Nov. 19, 1922, in Union Township, Mercer County, to Edward and Hazel Frysinger Fox. On Nov. 30, 1947, he married Dorothy Jane Gillen, who survives.
Other survivors are three children, Edward (Jacqueline), Baltimore, Md., Rebecca (Joseph), Berea, Ky., and James (Susan), Fremont; a sister, Marjorie Smalley, Dayton; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Robert and Reed Fox; and a sister, Phyllis.
He graduated from the former Mendon High School in 1940, and attended Perdue University until he joined the U.S. Army in 1943. Later he worked in the machine manufacturing business, Fox Brothers. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Paulding, Moose Lodge, Bryan, Ind., and Elks Lodge, Angola, Ind.
Services are 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Sterling-Ashton-Schwab-Witzke Funeral Home, Catonsville. Burial is at the Loudon Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
