During the predawn hours, winds will increase ahead of a low pressure system moving east through the lower Great Lakes. Gusts of 30 to 40 mph are expected through this afternoon, possibly gusting to 45 mph in a few spots. Wind is expected to decrease overnight but remain relatively strong at 20-25 mph this evening.
Please be aware of these strong winds especially if driving a higher profile vehicle. Secure loose outdoor objects and shore up seasonal decorations if possible.

Menards employee Dawn Schnell rings up an item for customer Staci Langenkamp Thursday at the Celina store. Sales were up nearly 3 percent for chain stores in Mercer County in 2009, while overall sales tax revenues showed a decline of almost 9 percent compared to 2008.
