An arctic cold front will move through the area this afternoon and evening, bringing snow showers and much colder air. While accumulations will generally be less than one half inch, quick bursts of snow will result in reductions in visibility and slick conditions at times. Some snow squalls are possible, which could lead to locally difficult travel conditions.

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero expected.
* WHERE...Portions of east central and southeast Indiana and central, southwest, and west central Ohio.
* WHEN...From 1 AM Monday to 10 AM EST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

Raymond Westgerdes
Raymond H. Westgerdes, 84, 223 S. Oak St., Coldwater, died at 8:53 p.m. Feb. 13, 2010, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
He was born July 28, 1925, in St. Henry, to Edward and Helen Wenz Westgerdes. On Aug. 21, 1954, he married Rita Obringer, who survives.
Other survivors are six sons, Alan (Joyce) Westgerdes and Carl (Cindy) Westgerdes, all of Coldwater, Gary (Vicky) Westgerdes, Larry (Denise) Westgerdes and Matthew Westgerdes, all of Celina, and Joe (Lynette) Westgerdes, Van Wert; a daughter, Mary Westgerdes, Chickasaw; a brother, John (Ginny) Westgerdes, Coldwater; two sisters, Maryann (Bernard) Simpson, Columbus, and Sister Elizabeth Westgerdes, Coldwater; a sister-in-law, Lucille Westgerdes, St. Henry; 16 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Deceased are two brothers, Edward Jr. and Vincent, and a brother and his wife, Robert and Norma Westgerdes; and a grandchild.
He worked as a printer at the Mercer County Chronicle, and Bock Printing, and retired from Doll Printing. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, and its Men's Holy Name Society, and the Knights of Columbus, Coldwater.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Rick Walling officiating. Burial is at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
