Goldia Francis
Goldia Mae Francis, 89, Russells Point, died March 13, 2010, at her home.
She was born Sept. 29, 1920, in Langley, Ky., to Allen and Mary Ann Lafferty Ratliff. On May 24, 1941, she married E.L. Francis, who died in 1995.
Surviving are nine children, Pat (Charlene) Francis, Russells Point, Don (Crystal) Francis, Sidney, James (Connie) Francis, Lewistown, Edgle (Mary Lou) Francis, Sidney, Martha Hemmer, Bellefontaine, Mary Gullett, Russells Point, Linda (Rick) Kirkpatrick, Russells Point, Susan (Fred) Vagedes, Coldwater, and Sally (Jim) Page, Bellefontaine; four sisters, Myrtle Ratliff, Minnie, Ky., Lula Bradley, and Sidney Ratliff, both of Drift, Ky., Shirley Amburgy, Louisa, Ky.; a brother, Edgel (Joan) Ratliff, Ypsilanti, Mich.; 24 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Luther Gene Francis; a grandson; 10 brothers and two sisters.
She was a member of Rumley Baptist Church, Anna. She worked at Holloway Sportswear, Jackson Center, where she retired in 1982. She was a graduate of Maytown High School, Maytown, Ky.
Services are 7 p.m. Wednesday at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview. Burial is at 11 a.m. Friday at Bethel Cemetery in Tazwell, Tenn.
Calling is 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
