Betty Tangeman
Betty M. Tangeman, 88, Wapakoneta, died at 11:40 a.m. May 6, 2010, at Wapakoneta Manor.
She was born Oct. 3, 1921, in Buckland, to Leslie and Sylvia Devore Zerkel. On June 1, 1941, she married Carol M. Tangeman, who died Oct. 26, 1988.
Surviving are four children, Sunda McDonald, Nancy (Frank) Heffner and David (Jan) Tangeman, all of Wapakoneta, and Tommy (Marjorie) Tangeman, St. Marys; three sisters-in-law, Maxine Zerkel, Lima, Lucille Tangeman, Wapakoneta, and Glenna Goewert, Ansonia; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son-in-law, Richard McDonald; three brothers and their wives, Alden and Opal Zerkel, Irvin Zerkel and Walter and Marie Zerkel; and two sisters and their spouses, Gladys and Frank Holtzapple and Marcella and Emerson Sunderland.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Buckland United Church of Christ, the CCC Sunday school class and the Women's Fellowship. She served as elder, treasurer, Sunday school teacher and Bible school teacher at the church. She was a 1939 graduate of Buckland High School.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Revs. Donald Rock and Jeanette Tangeman officiating. Burial is at Buckland Cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Monday at Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home in Wapakoneta and 9:30 -10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
