Alma Hittepole
Alma M. Hittepole, 93, 504 E. Monroe St., New Bremen, died at 11:35 p.m. May 10, 2010, at St. Marys Living Center, St. Marys, where she lived since 2007.
She was born Aug. 18, 1916, near Anna, to Arthur and Mary Seigle Butterfield. On Jan. 2, 1935, she married Harold Hittepole, who died July 12, 1985.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol Wilson, New Bremen, and Pat (Roy) Carlson, Chandler, Ariz.; five grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Shirley Kuck; a granddaughter; a son-in-law, Robert Wilson; and a brother, Leroy Butterfield.
She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen, where she also was active in the Service Guild. She was also a member of the New Bremen Senior Citizens, a graduate of Anna High School and helped her husband on the farm.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen, the Rev. Becky Erb Strang officiating. Burial is at German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Contributions can be made to the church memorial fund or to the New Bremen Emergency Squad.
