A 27-year-old Celina man remains incarcerated at the Allen County Jail after he attempted to toss drugs and other contraband over the fence at the Allen Correctional Institution on Monday morning.
Christopher Pickens Hughes, 401 Meyers Road, faces a charge of conveyance of drugs onto the grounds of a detention facility, a third-degree felony, after Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections staff members observed a package along the perimeter of the fence surrounding the institution. City organizes group to promote income tax levy
CELINA - The city will promote an income tax levy through a public campaign that Celina officials hope will inform citizens of its need for additional revenue and dispel misinformation about city spending.
Building will be leased to school district for staff
ST. MARYS - Renovation has begun on the downtown store that will be leased to St. Marys City Schools to house the administrative staff. City council on Monday night appropriated loan money to fund the work.
CELINA - The city may sell the former Piper property at 501 W. Warren St. next month through public bids, according to Celina Planning and Community Development Director Kent Bryan.

ST. HENRY - Village council members were happy to learn a large street paving project likely will be completed much earlier than expected.

COLDWATER - Village council members accepted a bid of $42,920 from H20 Towers of Saline, Mich., for cleaning and painting the exterior of the town's 500,000 gallon water tower on the west end of the village.
CELINA - With just a week left in the season to try to move into the top six of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League standings for a playoff berth, the Grand Lake Mariners are in need of a late-season surge.
