Lucille Nielsen
Lucille (Mescher) Nielsen, 80, of Pocahontas, Ark., died at 3 a.m. July 28, 2010, at a hospital in Pocahontas.
She was born Sept. 27, 1927, in Maria Stein, to Otto and Rosa Mescher. She was married to Harold Thompson in 1948 and later married Merle Nielsen in 1972. He died in 1980.
Surviving are a daughter, Kathy (Jerry) Smith, Arkansas; four sisters, Elsie Balster, Maria Stein, Sister Verlina Mescher, Denver, Colo., Marcella Mills, Versailles, and Martha Mescher, Haiti; five brothers, Dennis and David Mescher, Maria Stein, James Mescher, Fort Loramie, Vernon Mescher, Fort Recovery, and Nick Mescher, West Liberty; two sisters-in-law, Marcella and Micky Mescher; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Three brothers, Ralph, Stanley and Gilbert Mescher, are deceased.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 7 at the Maria Stein Shrine.
The body was cremated.
